Job Title: Manager, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to lead our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) program in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supporting MHPSS strategy and partnerships, as well as providing leadership and guidance to colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement MHPSS strategy and partnerships to support recovery activities in Alberta.
- Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues on collaboration and integration of MHPSS, including Indigenous Peoples.
- Lead program management and monitoring/evaluation of program activities to ensure alignment with standards and objectives.
- Support collaborative partnerships with national MHPSS and Recovery Services to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Ensure MHPSS projects and activities are culturally appropriate and inclusive.
Requirements:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Nursing, Education, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience.
- Registered professional with a degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or a related field.
- Certificate in project management is considered an asset.
- Experience in Emergency/disaster management, program development, and implementation required.
- Training in Psychological First Aid (PFA), protection, and violence prevention, and psychosocial support in emergencies.
- Strong leadership, managerial skills, and problem-solving skills in a complex, high-pressure environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Proven project management skills, including attention to detail and working with tight deadlines.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and respect of Indigenous culture and traditions, and cultural diversity.
Working Conditions:
- This position will primarily require remote work or work from a home environment.
- Periodic travel to partner meetings or field missions may be required.
- May require to be on-call on a rotation basis to respond to urgent and complex cases.
