Position Overview: Are you seeking a chance to leverage your expertise in land use planning, project oversight, and negotiation skills? If so, consider this opportunity within the Provincial Land Use Plans Branch of the Planning and Growth Division at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

Role Responsibilities: As a Senior Planner, you will collaborate with a team to provide project leadership and policy expertise. Your duties will include researching, analyzing, developing, and monitoring land use planning policies and provincial land use plans.

There are multiple Senior Planner roles available in the Provincial Land Use Plans Branch:

  • Three positions are within the Growth Planning, Data and Analysis Unit; two are permanent, and one is a contract role for 12 months with potential for extension.
  • One position is located in the Provincial Policies and Planning Unit, also a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Unit Responsibilities:

The Growth Planning, Data and Analysis Unit is tasked with researching, analyzing, developing, and monitoring land use planning policies related to urban development and managing population and employment growth.

The Provincial Policies and Planning Unit focuses on land use planning policies concerning the Greenbelt.

  • Experience in researching and assessing both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing presentations and briefing materials.
