Role: Business Development Specialist

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage business development initiatives, from initial concept to bid submission, encompassing internal deployments, equipment upgrades, redeployments, and asset disposal.
  • Provide support on complex business cases, including strategic partnerships and joint ventures, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Develop compelling business cases and bid books, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams across Sales, Operations, Marketing, Proposals, Pricing, Legal, and Finance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, presenting bid proposals to executive management and securing buy-in for proposed solutions.
  • Craft and refine essential documentation, including proposals, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and Letters of Intent (LOIs), ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities and qualify potential leads.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define proposed solutions that meet customer requirements and align with CAE's capabilities.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including Regional Leaders, Sales Leaders, and Operations Leaders, to communicate project scope, gather input, and foster collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Commercial Aviation Training Solution Strategy Plan.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through in-house meetings and on-site visits.
  • Maintain and manage databases, such as the Business Development (BD) List of initiatives and Salesforce (SFDC), ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Adhere to strict security protocols for handling classified or confidential business cases.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a business development or sales role within the aviation industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Familiarity with various aircraft types, airline business models, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop strategic solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing effectively and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Fluency in English and French.
