Job Summary:

As a Retail Sales Specialist, you will deliver exceptional customer service by proactively engaging with customers to understand their requirements and provide tailored assistance. Collaborating with supervisors and fellow sales team members, you will support various departments, including Paint, Lumber, Building Materials, Hardware, Electrical, Plumbing, Seasonal, and Tool Rental.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage customers with open-ended inquiries regarding their projects to assess their needs and expertise level.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities.
  • Articulate the features and advantages of products effectively.
  • Guide customers through the necessary steps to complete their projects, including recommending appropriate products.
  • Ensure assigned areas are well-stocked, organized, and maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Perform heavy lifting and be comfortable with bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods; familiarity with ladders is essential.
  • Organize, verify, and prepare orders for customer delivery or pick-up.
  • Utilize computer systems and mobile devices to check inventory, track orders, and inform customers when products are ready for collection.
  • Assist in lifting merchandise for customer organization and pick-up.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in a dynamic customer service setting.
  • Background in a sales-oriented environment is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and reading skills.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Trade experience is beneficial.
