Cantech Services is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join its team in the Newmarket Area. This is a full-time, permanent position with excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the accuracy of manufacturing bills of materials, work centre master files, and standard run times for all products.
- Coordinate the timely implementation of engineering changes to minimize obsolete stock and ensure production at the required engineering level.
- Develop and maintain a robust part numbering system.
- Design and implement plant and equipment layout improvements, process enhancements, and die changes.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard costs for all products.
- Coordinate the introduction of new products to the company and select suitable suppliers for subcontracted operations.
- Research and pursue opportunities for improvement in the operation to increase competitiveness.
- Participate in the engineering change process by designing and updating Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses as needed.
- Review operator instructions and ensure the readiness of assembly equipment, packaging requirements, and completion of manufacturing engineering tasks.
- Maintain a daily presence on the production floor, providing engineering support to assembly in areas such as ergonomic evaluations, methods improvement, and safety.
- Research, investigate, and report manufacturing concerns for improvement of overall plant productivity.
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in an engineering discipline, with mechanical engineering being preferred.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a related field or discipline.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems.
- Excellent technical report writing abilities.
- Previous experience with welding/programming required.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and C.A.D.
- Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
