Compensation Details
Salary Range: $43.17 to $55.39 plus an additional $9/hour CASA Classrooms premium
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day
Primary Location: Northern Lights School Division

Role Responsibilities
The Mental Health Therapist will be integral to CASA Classrooms, a pioneering initiative aimed at delivering mental health services within educational settings. This role will:
  • Collaborate with the CASA team and external resources to deliver effective trauma-informed mental health therapies to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Enhance parenting skills for caregivers of children with unique needs.
  • Utilize the DSM-5-TR and other diagnostic instruments to establish appropriate diagnoses.
  • Manage cases, including organizing case conferences and coordinating with CASA therapists, psychiatrists, and community services.
  • Facilitate consultations with other therapists or external partners as necessary.
  • Oversee and mentor student placements.
  • Enhance staff understanding of discipline-specific challenges.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or occupational therapy.
  • At least two years of clinical experience in child and family mental health or youth addiction services.
  • Current registration and good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), or Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Employment Conditions
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, at the candidate's expense.
  • Completion of a Child Intervention Check.
  • Verification of COVID-19 vaccination or a valid exemption based on legal grounds.
