We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Youth and Family Counsellor to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will work collaboratively to provide high-quality care to children and youth with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and support children and youth with emotional and behavioural challenges, using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Develop and facilitate groups and activities to promote social skills, community integration, and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with families and caregivers to provide supportive counselling and psychosocial assessment.
  • Participate in patient care planning, treatment strategies, and intervention development with the interprofessional team.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu, using engagement interventions and child and youth care theory and practice.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care, Psychology, or Clinical Counselling.
  • 2 years of recent experience working in a child and youth setting.
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license and current CPR certification.
  • Broad knowledge of child and youth development, mental health disorders, and trauma-informed care.
