About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Door Installation Specialist to join our team at Urban One Management Inc. as a Prefabricated Product Installer. As an Exterior and Interior Installation Expert, you will be responsible for installing exterior and interior prefabricated products, reading blueprints and specifications to determine work requirements, and repairing and servicing these products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Repair: Install exterior and interior prefabricated products, including measuring and marking guidelines for installations.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read blueprints and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accurate installations.
  • Service and Maintenance: Repair and service exterior and interior prefabricated products to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Layout and Installation Planning: Determine layout and installation procedures to ensure efficient and safe installations.
  • Tool Utilization: Utilize hand and power tools to complete installations and repairs.
Work Environment

This is an on-the-road job, requiring the ability to work independently and travel to various locations.

Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disaster, providing them with opportunities for mentorship and training.
  • Credential Recognition: Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition, helping them to integrate into the workforce.
  • Mentorship and Training: Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
  • Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, helping them to advance in their careers.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, promoting cultural understanding and respect.
  • Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers, promoting cultural understanding and respect.
Support for Visible Minorities
  • Hiring Practices: Apply hiring practices that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Mentorship and Training: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
  • Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
Work Requirements
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week.
