About the Role:

In collaboration with Adas Israel, the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) offers The Behrend-Adas Senior Fellowship, a community-oriented lunch and socialization initiative. This program provides a kosher meal alongside diverse social, fitness, and educational activities tailored for senior adults.

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Program Coordinator who will be present onsite four days a week at Adas Israel, with the flexibility to work off-site on the fifth day to plan future activities for seniors. The ideal candidate should possess experience in social services, demonstrate initiative, be well-organized, and exhibit strong communication skills. Previous leadership experience is advantageous. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that participants enjoy a safe, socially engaging, and enriching educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a monthly schedule of activities and oversee the logistics of these events, including transportation for local excursions.
  • Coordinate meal orders and procure snacks and supplies from designated vendors.
  • Adhere to grant requirements by managing intake forms, tracking program attendance, nutritional data, and activity reports.
  • Recruit and train volunteers to support the program.
  • Attract new participants through various outreach and marketing strategies.
  • Oversee the program budget in partnership with the program supervisor.
  • Foster relationships with Adas Israel staff to ensure ongoing collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related discipline, with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Current CPR and SafeServe certifications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented and organized.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office and capable of quickly learning new software and reporting tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing teamwork with colleagues and clients.
