About the Role
Island Health is seeking a skilled Inpatient Physician to join our Community Hospital team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our hospital's medical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical care to patients of all ages, with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders.
- Act as the Medical Resident Physician (MRP) for unattached and unassigned inpatients to the Family Practice service.
- Round on inpatients, arrange service transfers, and respond to urgent calls for admitted patients.
- Participate in daily structured team reports and support allied teams in the hospital and community.
- Provide consult services to on-site ambulatory clinics and virtual outreach services to rural health sites and Indigenous communities.
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients, providing both direct and indirect patient care.
Additional Responsibilities
- May provide first call for After-hours OR Assist.
- May provide MAID physician services.
- May provide NTP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) services.
