We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Renal Hemodialysis department at Sault Area Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, initiating, monitoring, and discontinuing prescribed dialysis treatments, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue prescribed dialysis treatments in the Hemodialysis, Surgical, and Critical Care Units.
- Provide patient and family education on modality selection, diet, fluid restrictions, and medication administration.
- Apply infection control practices and precautions related to hemodialysis.
- Document patient care using the Renal Nexadia EHR.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to provide patient care.
- Use the Standards of Nursing Practice and the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Certificate of competency in Ontario.
- Current certification in venipuncture.
- Recent experience in Hemodialysis.
- Experience in the care of medical patients.
- Demonstrated competency in Hemodiafiltration patient treatments.
- Competency in Single-Needle Cross-Over patient treatments.
- Experience with Critical Care patient hemodialysis treatments.
- Experience in the management and care of Renal patients.
