About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Renal Hemodialysis team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue prescribed dialysis treatments in the Hemodialysis, Surgical, and Critical Care Units, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Provide patient and family education on modality selection, diet, fluid restrictions, and medication administration, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
- Apply infection control practices and precautions related to hemodialysis, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Document patient care using the Renal Nexadia EHR, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of patient care and services.
Requirements:
- Certificate of competency in Ontario.
- Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification)
- Current experience in Hemodialysis.
- Experience in the care of medical patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated competencies related to IV Therapy, including central lines.
- Demonstrated clinical competency in the management and care of Renal patients.
- Knowledgeable in utilization and care of all mechanical equipment required for patient care.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
