Renal Hemodialysis Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Renal Hemodialysis team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate, monitor, and discontinue prescribed dialysis treatments in the Hemodialysis, Surgical, and Critical Care Units, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
• Provide patient and family education on modality selection, diet, fluid restrictions, and medication administration, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
• Apply infection control practices and precautions related to hemodialysis, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care.
• Document patient care using the Renal Nexadia EHR, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of patient care and services.

Requirements:

• Certificate of competency in Ontario.
• Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification)
• Current experience in Hemodialysis.
• Experience in the care of medical patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated competencies related to IV Therapy, including central lines.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the management and care of Renal patients.
• Knowledgeable in utilization and care of all mechanical equipment required for patient care.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
