As a Field Appraiser, you will strive to create peace of mind for our clients and communities while delivering compassionate service. Your responsibilities will include assessing vehicle damages in various settings, including auto repair facilities and remote locations, to determine reparability. You will frequently engage with both internal and external customers, as well as vendors. Your dedication to continuous improvement and high-integrity practices will guide your actions in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting and reviewing detailed damage appraisals in the field with relevant stakeholders present, utilizing your expertise in damage repair.
  • Identifying and assessing the availability of parts, quantifying losses to ascertain vehicle repairability, and researching recommended repair methodologies.
  • Maintaining consistent communication with clients and claimants to arrange appraisal appointments, discuss repair procedures, and convey timelines.
  • Engaging with all stakeholders and fostering relationships throughout the claims process to discuss and approve repairs with vendors and clients, ensuring safe and quality repairs are executed.
  • Delivering exceptional client service in alignment with our claims service and quality standards, positioning the organization as a leader in client engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in collision repair and estimating or a related field.
  • A post-secondary diploma is required.
  • You hold the Autobody Repair Technician or Refinisher Certification and the Physical Damage Appraiser Certificate.
  • You have or are willing to obtain the I-Car Platinum Certificate.
  • You possess expert knowledge of vehicle construction and collision repair techniques and procedures.
  • You will obtain provincial appraiser license(s) as required based on your province of work.

Additional Information:

  • A personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance are required.
  • Regular travel is expected.
  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
  • The role involves frequent movement, moderate exertion, and the ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
  • There may be exposure to conditions requiring health and safety protection, such as chemicals, noise, dust, and debris.
  • Direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment is a key aspect of this role.
  • A background check will be conducted as a condition of employment for successful candidates.
