Job Summary

West British Drywall Ltd is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality drywall installation for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing
    • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
    • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster to create a durable and attractive surface.
  • Surface Preparation
    • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation.
    • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
  • Measurement and Installation
    • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
    • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Taping and Finishing
    • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
    • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
  • Specialized Tasks
    • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
    • Install exterior and interior steel studs.
    • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.
  • Communication and Safety
    • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
    • Work safely at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Business Operations
    • Estimate costs and materials for drywall installation projects.
    • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts for installation.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Working Conditions
  • Varied work locations, including construction sites and offices.
  • 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime.
  • English language proficiency.
