Job Summary

As a Delivery Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to our valued customers. Your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional customer service by understanding and meeting their needs. Success in this role hinges on your ability to consistently deliver on time, maintain accuracy, and foster positive interactions with each customer.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a 26-foot 5-tonne truck to conduct deliveries along predetermined routes using proprietary smartphone software for precise on-time delivery to multiple store locations.
  • Meticulously adhere to all documentation procedures, including manifests and obtaining signatures, as outlined in our standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Load pallets of products into the truck at a Metro facility, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
  • Adhere strictly to Metro's safe driving practices and all provincial motor vehicle laws.
  • Maintain a clean delivery truck by performing daily pre/post-shift safety inspections and promptly reporting any concerns or service recommendations to your supervisor.
  • Uphold Metro's security protocols to safeguard company and customer property against theft.
  • Return damaged or unaccepted products to the facility according to established SOPs.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Dispatch Team, and Logistics Coordinators to accommodate rush deliveries and any necessary adjustments to delivery routes.

Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
