Job Title: Personal Support Worker

Spectrum Health Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personal care and support to our patients, enabling them to recover safely from an acute illness or remain in their homes throughout the aging process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, skincare, and light meal preparation.
  • Assess, anticipate, and respond to new and changing needs of patients, communicating available resources to patients when appropriate.
  • Perform delegated and/or assigned tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Travel within assigned regions to provide care to patients in their residences or facilities.
Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program.
  • Be physically able to meet the demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, and reaching freely for extended periods.
  • Demonstrate exceptional personal care and customer service skills.
  • Hold valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certifications.
  • Have a valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check and an updated immunization record, including a TB Test within the last six months.
  • Be proficient in verbal and written English communication skills, with additional language skills considered an asset.
