Position Overview:
The Royal Mental Health Centre is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee administrative and clinical operations during non-standard hours. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a visible administrative and clinical leadership presence during evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Act as the primary liaison for the interdisciplinary team, other departments, and external partners regarding patient care matters outside of regular hours.
- Manage urgent situations that arise outside of standard hours and allocate staff resources as necessary.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of patients by supervising assignments and taking action when required.
- Facilitate patient flow and coordinate bed availability with the healthcare team.
- Oversee nursing practices and strive to enhance patient outcomes.
- Support recruitment efforts, manage disciplinary processes, and provide employee assistance.
- Engage in budget planning and adhere to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is required; a Master's degree in nursing is preferred.
- Recent experience in a leadership role is advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in acute care settings is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster effective working relationships.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is considered a valuable asset.
