Job Overview:

The Terminal Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the terminal. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular preventive and corrective cleaning of the terminal facilities, including the removal of solid materials such as cement.
  • Utilize a jackhammer (30 and 37 lbs) for cleaning beneath equipment, requiring physical agility.
  • Perform snow removal tasks in the yard area.
  • Operate forklifts for loading and unloading flatbed trucks.
  • Handle a wheel loader and mini-loader (Bobcat) for various operational needs.
  • Assist in unloading wagons by connecting and disconnecting hoses.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of cement tanker trucks.
  • Oversee bulk bagging and packaging of cement (1TM).
  • Operate and maintain a slag drying unit.
  • Participate in occasional loading and unloading operations as needed.

Safety Commitment:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Experience in the cement or construction industry is a significant advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to engage in physically demanding work.
  • Ability to wear a dust mask throughout the workday.
  • Availability for overtime hours as required.
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
