Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the College of the North Atlantic.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality early childhood education to children from birth to age six, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans for children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs are met.
  • Mentor students during field practice and lab components of relevant early childhood education courses.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Must have completed the required coursework to be in possession of, or eligible for, Level I Certification through the Association of Early Childhood Educators Newfoundland and Labrador (AECENL).
  • Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and legislation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Working Conditions:

This role requires a high level of physical activity, including lifting and moving children weighing up to 50 lbs, as well as sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent basis. The ability to work in awkward or cramped positions requiring bending and kneeling is also required.

Salary:

CG-27 - $24.98 to $27.63 per hour

Additionally, the successful candidate will receive the provincial Early Learning and Child Care Supplement, based on eligibility requirements.
