Job Title: Optical Technician

At Brampton Vision Centre Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optical Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Optical Technician will be responsible for administering eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists. They will also develop information materials for patients, follow through on treatment programs, and maintain inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • Develop information materials for patients
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients
  • Maintain inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products
  • Record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation
  • Maintain supplies
  • Maintain inventory of equipment
  • Perform general clerical duties
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history
