G Star Homes Inc. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Drywall Installation Specialist to install drywall sheets, apply successive coats of compound, and sand seams and joints. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drywall installation and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Install drywall sheets, ensuring a smooth and even finish
  • Apply successive coats of compound, sanding seams and joints to a high standard
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation
  • Commercial and residential work experience
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina
  • Flexibility and reliability
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a large workload. The position requires the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a physically demanding environment.
