Job Summary

Cementation Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Raise Drill Operator to join our team. As a key member of our Raise Bore department, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the raise drill during all operations from set up to tear down.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the raise drill in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring maximum production with minimal wear and tear on the in-hole hardware.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on the drill and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the client to resolve any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall efficiency and productivity of the raise drill operation.
  • Train and mentor new drillers and helpers in safe work methods and drilling techniques.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of the drill and associated equipment, making recommendations for maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Work closely with the cross-shift team to ensure a smooth transition of operations and maintain a high level of productivity.
Requirements
  • Completion of High School
  • 3 to 5 years of experience operating a raise drill, preferably on large diameter work
  • Accreditation in Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) Basic Common Core and Speciality Module U0072, Operate Raise Drill
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment
