Job Title: Supervision Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Supervision Assistant at Promontory Heights Elementary School.

Job Summary:

The Supervision Assistant will work under minimal direction to monitor student behavior and provide assistance to students during non-instructional time. This role requires a cooperative and patient individual who can work effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor student behavior inside the school and on the grounds, ensuring students are in assigned areas.
  • Administer First Aid to students as needed.
  • Administer student medication as directed by the Principal.
  • Report safety and discipline concerns to the Principal or designate.
  • Promote and foster cooperative relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Distribute activity materials and equipment as required.
  • Perform other student supervision-related duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
  • Over six months' experience working with children.
  • A valid Safety Oriented First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to extend and model patience, care, tolerance, and understanding.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and human relations skills for frequent contacts of a difficult, specialized, or sensitive nature.
  • Ability to work with special needs students.

Working Conditions:

The Supervision Assistant will work in a school setting, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The role requires a high level of patience, understanding, and communication skills.
