Job Title: System Administrator

The System Administrator will provide critical support for our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and networks. This role requires a strong understanding of Linux and Windows Server administration, as well as experience with network protocols and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain our managed customer equipment, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Take lead on project work, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
  • Manage and monitor the ticketing system queue, prioritizing tasks and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting, using strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Perform administrative tasks and troubleshooting for managed desktop clients, ensuring seamless user experience.
  • Review and analyze logs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Escalate issues to next-level technical or vendor support as needed, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Proactively communicate with customers during critical events, providing timely updates and support.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying knowledge to improve our IT infrastructure.
  • Participate in projects as required, collaborating with teams to deliver results.
Requirements:
  • 4 years of Linux System Administration experience, with a strong understanding of Linux variants.
  • 4 years of experience with Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016 and Windows Desktop 7, 8, 10 Admin.
  • Hands-on experience with VMWare, with Hyper-V experience an asset.
  • Experience with various firewalls, including CISCO, Fortigate, and SonicWall.
  • Juniper experience is an asset, as is a good understanding of Internet Services, DNS, Bind, SMTP-mail servers, Web-Hosting, VPN, and SAN.
  • A strong understanding of TCP/IP and general networking and systems security.

This is a permanent position located in Toronto, ON.
