Position Overview

As a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will prioritize safety while overseeing the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diverse power plant equipment. This role encompasses maintenance tasks related to boilers and their corresponding electrical and control systems, as well as the repair and operation of field controllers, instrumentation, motor control centers, and various electrical equipment within the power generation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and direct the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (E, I & C) team.

· Strategically plan and schedule weekly job assignments to optimize manpower utilization.

· Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot generator instrumentation, control circuits, combustion control systems, and drum level controls.

· Test and troubleshoot pneumatic, electrical, and electronic control equipment, including individual printed circuit board elements, circuit breakers, motor control centers, generators, transformers, electrical metering, and protective relays.

· Assess, inspect, adjust, and repair the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) and all facility instrumentation related to flow, pressure, temperature, and level.

· Demonstrate proficiency in programming DCS, PLC, and PC-based SCADA systems, including HMI development and configuration.

· Troubleshoot and calibrate control valves effectively.

· Interpret electrical wiring and schematic diagrams, P&ID drawings, and other engineering documentation for troubleshooting purposes.

· Employ a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

· Work independently and collaboratively to address practical challenges on-site, enhancing plant performance.

· Operate effectively in an Industrial Power Generation Environment.

· Exhibit motivation and initiative in tackling all aspects of I&C systems problem-solving.

· Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to focus on critical information without getting lost in unnecessary details.

· Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including routine calibration and thermography.

· Operate various calibration equipment and execute electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair tasks while adhering to safety practices.

· Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues and maintain comprehensive maintenance records.

· Complete safety, compliance, and other required training/certification within designated timelines.

· Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in instrument calibration and field device management.

· An associate degree or equivalent experience in instrumentation and control systems, with familiarity in power generation and operations being advantageous.

· Proficient in PC applications, including MS Office.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Possession of 442A and 447A licenses is considered an asset.
