About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cable Installation Specialist to join our team at BIDS TECHNICAL SERVICES INC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining cable signals and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Cable Signals: Conduct thorough inspections of cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install and Maintain Aerial and Underground Equipment: Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, including cable modems and software.
  • Read Blueprints and Determine Work Requirements: Read blueprints and determine work requirements to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of cable signals.
  • Repair and Test Equipment: Repair and test equipment to locate transmission faults and ensure optimal performance.
  • Install Trunking Systems and Circuits: Install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment to ensure seamless communication.
  • Instruct Apprentices: Instruct apprentices on cable installation and maintenance procedures.
  • Complete and Maintain Test and Service Reports: Complete and maintain test and service reports to ensure accurate documentation of work performed.
  • Determine Nature, Cause, and Location of Trouble: Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Climb and Work Aloft: Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to install and maintain cable signals.
  • Connect, Disconnect, and Relocate Cable Outlets: Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets to ensure seamless communication.
  • Determine Work Assignments: Determine work assignments to ensure efficient use of resources.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in cable installation and maintenance.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 32 hours per week.
