Digital Architect Job Description

Dasro Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Digital Architect to lead the solution architecture of digital services for one of its clients in Edmonton, AB.

Duration: 12 Months contract with the possibility of extension

Location: REMOTE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the overall architectural plan, ensuring a citizen-centered design and agile software approach
  • Uncover existing system context
  • Provide recommendations and prototypes for technical discovery and feasibility
  • Provide and be accountable for the solution designs that account for iterative implementation
  • Analyze impacts, exposure, and risk as it pertains to the solution design
  • Guide the team in the implementation of digital services by facilitating frequent delivery of products to ensure that the target architecture is successfully created
  • Determine the tactical approach on each integration and the target state of system boundaries and interactions
  • Identify opportunities to leverage common components and capabilities of other digital services
  • Encourage team contribution towards developing opportunities to leverage other digital services

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related field of study
  • Experience conveying technical information to non-technical people and advising decision-makers on technical options
  • Experience in leading solution architecture and introducing the overall technical vision for a large-scale Enterprise project with integrations between systems
  • Experience leading and mentoring team(s) in agile principles, policies and procedures
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and the ability to leverage them to build scalable and resilient architectures
  • Experience working with open-source ecosystems

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing DevSecOps in an enterprise environment
  • Experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases
  • Experience working with teams that also apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches
