Job Description

Job Title: Future Opportunities-Secondary Teacher

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Secondary Teacher to join our team at the York Region District School Board. As a Secondary Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with provincial standards
  • Provide support and guidance to students outside of regular class time
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices

Requirements:

  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification
  • Valid Technological Education qualifications
  • Experience working with students in a secondary education setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
