Established in 1903, The Windsor Club boasts a picturesque setting and exceptional banquet facilities, underpinned by a rich history. As a private members' club, we prioritize delivering outstanding food and beverage services to our esteemed members and guests.

Located in Windsor, Ontario, a vibrant and culturally rich city, The Windsor Club is seeking a General Manager to oversee and enhance our club operations in alignment with our mission, vision, and values, while adhering to our Policies and Bylaws. The General Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive administration and management of all club facets, including operations, programming, finances, facilities, and departmental functions, which encompass both annual and monthly budgets.

The General Manager will serve as the leader and mentor for the club's management team, reporting directly to the Board of Directors through the President. Candidates are encouraged to present their qualifications based on the following criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of club activities and services to ensure exceptional member satisfaction and referrals.
  • Design and implement innovative, industry-leading operational policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Guide and support the development of all department managers.
  • Ensure the financial success of our food and beverage sectors and special events.
  • Deliver a consistently outstanding experience that exceeds member expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Board to achieve both long-term and short-term financial goals.
  • Prepare forecasts and execute the financial strategy for the club, including the development of operating, cash, and capital budgets.
  • Generate financial reports for the Board and Finance Committee.
  • Lead human resources initiatives, establishing and monitoring personnel policies while fostering a positive workplace environment.
  • Engage with new and prospective club members, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Coordinate marketing and member relations efforts to promote club services.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with members through active participation in club events.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements affecting the club.

Experience:

  • Understanding of the culture required to deliver an exceptional private club experience.
  • Experience in food and beverage operations, addressing staffing and resource challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets and business plans.
  • Experience in reporting to a board and implementing strategies to meet club objectives.
  • Flexibility in schedule and an understanding of the need for availability with limited resources.
