Qualifications- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
The role is based in a child care centre, where collaboration with fellow educators is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Assist colleagues with housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
- Support early childhood educators in implementing programs that foster children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Lead engaging activities such as storytelling, singing, and excursions to local attractions.
- Help maintain accurate records under the guidance of early childhood educators or supervisors.
- Encourage children to express their creativity through various forms of art, music, and physical play.
- Engage children in activities by narrating stories, teaching songs, and organizing craft projects.
- Guide children in developing healthy habits related to eating, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor children for any signs of learning or behavioral challenges and prepare reports for parents or supervisors.
- Document observations regarding children's progress and share insights with early childhood educators or supervisors.
- Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's development and any concerns.
- Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1)
- First Aid Certification
- CPR Certification
A criminal record check is required for this position.
