Fenix Construction and Labour Services Inc. - Tile Setter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, mixing and applying adhesives, and setting tiles in place.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, ensuring they are clean, dry, and free of debris.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar, cement, or mastic, to the prepared surface.
  • Set tiles in place, ensuring they are level, plumb, and securely fastened.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in tile setting or a related field.
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty environments, and in various locations.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Work Environment:

Our team works in various locations, including construction sites and client premises. You will be required to work at heights, in dusty environments, and in a fast-paced setting.
