Position Overview
This role is a contractual position for a Junior Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will engage in various legal activities, including conducting thorough research, drafting essential legal documents, providing strategic advice to clients, and representing them in legal proceedings, all under the guidance of Demers. The position requires presence at the firm's office, located in a prominent financial district.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage legal matters effectively and efficiently
- Conduct comprehensive legal research
- Draft and review legal documents with precision
- Offer sound legal counsel to clients
- Represent clients in court and other legal settings
Qualifications
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Possession of an existing client base and potential leads
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited institution
- Active membership in the Law Society of Ontario
Compensation Structure
This position is not salaried; the Junior Legal Counsel will bill for their time on cases at a mutually agreed rate, with payment made accordingly. Initially, Demers will cover the costs associated with office space and necessary amenities, with specific terms to be finalized.
