About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Gestion Cejemar Inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
    • Portion and wrap foods for serving.
    • Package take-out food for customers.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Carry and replace linen in a timely manner.
    • Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
    • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
    • Place dishes in storage areas.
    • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
    • Scour pots and pans.
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Stock refrigerators and salad bars.
  • Customer Service
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
    • Take customers' orders.
  • General Maintenance
    • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
    • Handle and store cleaning products.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
      • Or equivalent experience.
    • Experience
      • Experience an asset.
    • Physical Demands
      • Fast-paced environment.
      • Physically demanding.
      • Repetitive tasks.
      • Standing for extended periods.
      • Work under pressure.

    Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. Public transportation is not available.
