Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at 1957322 Alberta Inc. This role is essential in fostering a nurturing environment for young children, ensuring their growth and development.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years and up to 3 years of relevant experience in a childcare setting.
Work Environment

The position will be based in a child care centre or day care centre, which may be characterized as a noisy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Design and execute child-care programs that enhance the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Engage children through storytelling, singing, and crafting activities.
  • Support early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records.
  • Encourage children in developing appropriate habits related to eating, dressing, and toilet use.
  • Prepare snacks and organize spaces for meals and rest periods.
  • Monitor children for any signs of learning or behavioral challenges and compile reports for parents or supervisors.
Supervision

This role involves supervising a group of approximately 5-10 children.

Certifications

Possession of a Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification is required.

Safety and Security

A criminal record check is mandatory for this position.

Transportation

Candidates should have their own transportation, although public transport options are also available.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Capability to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed.
