What Is the Opportunity?
We are in search of a highly skilled and motivated Senior HCM & Payroll Functional Analyst to become part of Aecon.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with business process leaders and end users to comprehend project and enhancement requirements. Work alongside other functional team members and the development team to design, build, and implement functionalities that meet business needs. Partner with the Solution Architect to ensure that specific functionalities align with the overall technical vision for the solution. Oversee application design in accordance with Aecon's business processes and requirements. Develop functional specifications and assist in creating technical specifications. Collaborate with the Technical/Development team to deliver functional system enhancements. Coordinate with the internal application security team to ensure proper application access roles and permissions are established and maintained. Create or contribute to the development of necessary training materials. Serve as a liaison with internal clients for troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and resolve software issues for production incidents. Configure application functionalities for any requirements or enhancements. Document and execute Unit Testing and System Integration Testing. Work with the QA Lead and QA Team to ensure appropriate QA testing is conducted. Collaborate with other internal IT departments to ensure optimal work processes are adhered to. Provide support and expertise post-go-live of initial rollout projects. Ensure adherence to current best practices for the application and its underlying infrastructure (Servers, Databases, security, etc.). Comply with Application and IS change management processes and expedite changes as necessary for high-priority issues. Work effectively with application support/implementation vendors for day-to-day operations or other tasks. Participate in Internal, Customer, and Regulatory Audits as required. Prepare documentation and training materials as necessary. Exhibit strong multitasking abilities to manage multiple deliverables and projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

5 to 10 years of experience in HCM & Payroll configuration. University Degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution. Proven ability to thrive in a high-demand environment, where managing multiple priorities, resolving issues promptly, and meeting challenging timelines are essential. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address urgent payroll-related issues efficiently. Excellent decision-making, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities. Experience in the construction industry is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft suite products. Demonstrated capability to perform business impact assessments and troubleshoot complex integration issues. Proven track record of providing timely services to maintain high customer satisfaction levels. Experience in gathering business requirements. Ability to educate end users on system configuration and design alternatives. Support clients through decision-making and process design. Ensure deliverables are completed within deadlines and meet quality expectations. Act as a subject matter expert on projects.

Specific Role Requirements:
SAP HCM (Human Capital Management)

The role necessitates expertise in SAP Payroll, Time Management, Benefits, and interface building experiences, with hands-on experience in these areas, preferably including at least 2 end-to-end implementation and support projects. A deep understanding of Canadian payroll tax regulations is essential to ensure accurate payroll processing. Configure and customize PCRs within the SAP system to address specific Canadian payroll requirements, including deductions, taxes, and benefits calculations.
