Investment Fund Marketing Manager

Empire Life is seeking a highly skilled Investment Fund Marketing Manager to join our Investment Products & Marketing team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication plans for investment funds and market commentary to support Retail Investment Products and Marketing initiatives and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans for investment funds and market commentary.
  • Collaborate with internal and external portfolio managers to create insightful and impactful marketing materials for all Empire Life segregated funds.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate macroeconomic themes and ideas from internal and external investment strategists.
  • Provide marketing support for product launches, promotions, campaigns, and branding initiatives.
  • Utilize digital marketing tools and technologies to develop and deliver investment fund marketing campaigns and content.
  • Work with internal and external marketing teams to execute all web, SEO/SEM, email and social media campaigns to support lead generation initiatives.
  • Manage strategic priorities while also executing on ad hoc timely communications as needed.
  • Creation of marketing briefs to identify marketing strategies, tactics, and rationale for Empire Life segregated funds.
  • Ensure the value proposition and key messages for all Empire Life segregated funds are up-to-date, consistent, and resonate with the target audience.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including internal and external partners, to develop marketing and communication processes that ensure timely and effective flow of information.
  • Contribute to the preparation of business cases and cost-benefit analyses for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Utilize fact-finding methodologies to gather industry, market, competitor, distribution channel and client research to understand the customer and develop targeted marketing communication tactics.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal and external partners, to ensure input on the development of consistent and compelling marketing programs.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement digital marketing tools and best practices to increase the efficiency of existing marketing tactics.
  • Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns; assess against goals (ROI and KPIs) and develop best-practice analytics and reporting capability to optimize marketing strategies and advertising media channel mix.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree, preferably in a creative, marketing or business administration area of studies.
  • 5+ years of experience in either marketing communications or investment product marketing.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and the investment fund industry.
  • Strong understanding of Canada's regulatory environment, specifically as it relates to segregated funds / mutual funds /asset management products and services.
  • Industry designations or courses (IFIC, CSA, CFA, RIA, etc..) are an asset.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Expertise with marketing automation software is preferred (e.g., Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot, etc.).
  • Experience analyzing investment fund data using investment fund tools (Morningstar, etc.) is preferable.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills: Strong collaboration, time and project management skills.
  • Excellent writing, editing and research skills, with superior knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation.
  • Proactive, innovative, creative, positive, articulate and professional.
