Learning and Development Coach

The Learning & Development Trainer plays a pivotal role in enhancing employee skills at Bison Transport. This position involves facilitating training programs focused on Operational roles, utilizing a blended approach of classroom, on-the-job, and eLearning platforms. The Trainer provides thorough post-course assessments to ensure Operations leaders can support learners after training is complete.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team that provides coaching and training to help develop skills and progress careers. As a Learning & Development Trainer, you will be responsible for:
- Partnering with the business and learner to meet identified learning outcomes.
- Planning and preparing for training through administering pre-training and preparing the learning environment.
- Delivering training by utilizing appropriate and established delivery methods.
- Utilizing adult learning principles to create an active and robust learning environment, motivating and assessing participants' progress.
- Delivering training in both virtual/remote and in-person environments as required.
- Establishing classroom and on-the-job credibility by maintaining a positive learning environment and guiding participants appropriately.
- Regularly evaluating learning content and curriculum to ensure relevancy to current operational practices.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Experience in a transportation operational environment, an asset.
- Above-average technical and computer skills.
- Proven group facilitation, presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a digital/virtual environment.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- A 'can-do' attitude with a level of flexibility and adaptability that lends to win-win outcomes.
- Desire to work in a dynamic continuous improvement environment and participate in the development of a high-impact learning team.
- Above-average relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the work done, including getting 'in-role' to gain current subject matter knowledge and understanding.
- Formal education in Adult Education and/or Instructional Design, an asset.
- Previous experience in adult education, instructional design, and/or training, an asset.
