Job Summary

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in Trail, BC. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing financial reporting, analysis, and information to support the organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis to support business decision-making
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial plans
  • Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information
Requirements
  • University degree in commerce, business administration, or a related field
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing (or enrolled in CPA PEP with CORE 1 and CORE 2 modules completed)
  • At least 3 years of experience in an accounting position
  • Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting software
  • Sound knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards and related accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office environment, including superior Excel skills
