Job Title: Surveyor General - Cadastral Surveying Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Surveyor General to join our team at Employment and Social Development Canada. As a Surveyor General, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on cadastral surveying and land boundary matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise on cadastral surveying and land boundary matters
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to cadastral surveying and land boundary management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex surveying and boundary issues
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on surveying and boundary matters
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in surveying and boundary laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution and a valid license to practice cadastral surveying in at least one (1) Canadian jurisdiction
  • Significant experience in managing spatial reference frameworks (national, provincial or municipal)
  • Experience managing surveys of jurisdictional boundaries (international, interprovincial, and/or exterior boundaries of Canada Lands)
  • Experience working with international partners or representing Canada in international forums

Asset Qualifications:

  • License to practice cadastral surveying on Canada Lands
  • Experience in managing surveys of jurisdictional boundaries (international, interprovincial, and/or exterior boundaries of Canada Lands)
