The Facilities Management department at SAIT is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Service Worker to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing labor support for various events, academic initiatives, and non-academic functions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide labor support for event set-up and teardown services, including convocation set-up and teardown.
- Support academic initiatives through various tasks, including maintaining public and service areas, and ensuring timely delivery of educational materials.
- Provide labor support for office and furniture moves, as well as equipment and electronic disposals.
- Load, offload, and transport material and equipment for academic and non-academic departments.
- Assess damage to furniture and perform other duties related to operations, committee, special projects, and team building.
- Grade 12 Diploma or a combination of applicable education and experience.
- Must be an active SAIT student for the duration of the contract.
- Class 5 Driver's License.
- Forklift Operator Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
- Current TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
- Trained in First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with an Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) or similar software is highly desirable.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment, including sharing knowledge with co-workers.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Organizational skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Client-focused in building relationships.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
