Job Overview

The individual in this role will report directly to the Director of Project Management - Civil Engineering and will work in close partnership with the Project Coordinator to ensure effective project management aligned with the standards, protocols, and policies of various clients. The primary focus will be on projects for Hydro Quebec, Bell, CSEM, the City of Montreal, and several municipalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, interpret, and prepare work plans based on tender documents, specifications, and drawings;
  • Participate in site visits, kickoff meetings, and planning sessions;
  • Assist in developing the project timeline and ensure compliance during execution;
  • Analyze both direct and indirect project costs;
  • Collaborate in closely monitoring expenses throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and material assessments from plans;
  • Solicit pricing from suppliers and/or subcontractors;
  • Order necessary materials and confirm delivery timelines;
  • Manage and oversee various quality control documents related to ongoing projects;
  • Support the tracking of contractual documents pertinent to active projects;
  • Demonstrate creativity and propose alternatives when appropriate;
  • Monitor work quantities on-site for invoicing purposes;
  • Assist in client billing processes, ensuring accuracy, timely submissions, and adherence to both internal and client specifications;
  • Help produce various tracking reports (billing, project progress, costs, etc.);
  • Estimate and prepare submissions as required;
  • Perform additional tasks related to the position as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and SkillsEducation and Experience
  • Previous experience as a Civil Engineering Assistant;
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience;
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering plans.
