We are seeking a highly skilled Trucking Operations Analyst to join our team at Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of regional operations, including by-product sales and operational activities, driver recruitment and retention, customer sales and service interaction, and analysis and execution of regional business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct safety inspections in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Identify FMCSR violations and implement corrective action plans with drivers
- Conduct driver onboarding safety and compliance training as well as ongoing remedial training activities
- Monitor and document driver compliance in accordance with all Safety and Regulatory requirements
- Perform on-site accident inspections and assist Safety & Compliance Manager in completion of required reporting
- Manage regional By-Product Business operational activities
- Lead regional By-products strategic Sales effort to determine and set external customer base, pricing, and service levels
- Collaborate with LP Procurement to identify and secure sustainable by-products markets
- Lead regional Driver management efforts including driver performance reviews, analyze and implement problem resolution (between dispatch, customers, etc....) and manage driver transactional concerns revolving around revenue/payment concerns
- Lead regional flatbed Sales efforts for current as well as new customers including negotiating pricing, business commitments, and service levels in order to cultivate additional business from current customers and generate new customer business volumes
- Coordinate with Recruiting Manager to build driver base based on supporting customer requirements
- Lead regional efforts in identifying transportation efficiency improvement opportunities or to support Corporate initiatives at the regional level
- Perform basic accounting functions necessary to account for by-products movements
- Operate and maintain a company vehicle in accordance with Corporate Policy
- 6+ years' previous logistics transportation experience, including supervisory experience
- Demonstrated front line experience with customer Sales and Driver recruitment
- Thorough knowledge of trucking industry including DOT Rules and Regulations
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project objectives
- Demonstrated knowledge of geography, routing, climatology and their associated effects on modal dynamics
- Demonstrated effective management methods, organizational and team building skills
- Knowledge of relevant regulations for corporate and government compliance
- Knowledge and understanding of key lane and geographic regions and the factors which affect capacity balance
- Strong interpersonal and Sales skills to support relationship building, customer growth, and driver recruitment
- Ability to operate a computer and supporting software
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred
- Office environment
- Travel required
