Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols
- Respond to various incidents
- Monitor surveillance systems
- Provide patient supervision
- Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed reports
- Investigate routine incidents
- Enforce parking regulations and smoking policies
- Maintain awareness and enforcement of policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Current First Aid & CPR Level C Certification
- Proof of double COVID-19 vaccinations
- Immunization records demonstrating immunity for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox), and TB Skin Tests 1 & 2
- Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Applicants without these certifications may enroll in Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding, with costs covered by Paladin upon a 6-month commitment
- Capacity to thrive in a dynamic and flexible environment while upholding professionalism
- Ability to work independently
- Moderate physical activity, including prolonged standing and walking
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
- Adhere to our Code of Ethics in all job functions
- Comprehend and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French is an asset
- Reliable transportation to and from work sites
- Preferred Experience:
- 1 year of experience in healthcare security or 2 years in commercial security
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Demonstrated skills in verbal de-escalation
- Experience in a Use of Force environment or performing physical interventions in a security context
