Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the Sunset Grill team, the Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our culinary department. This includes:

  • Staff Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure that all team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Operations Planning: Establish methods to meet work schedules, prepare budget and cost estimates, and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Food Service Supervisor will require:

  • Leadership Skills: The ability to lead and motivate a team of staff, and to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, and customers.
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Flexibility: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Working Conditions

The Food Service Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of physical activity required. The successful candidate will be able to stand for extended periods, and will be physically demanding.
