Job Summary

Arctic Co-op is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Co-op Retail Operations Manager to join our team in Fort McPherson. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and motivate a team of retail staff to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee the operation of the retail store, including inventory management, stock ordering, and pricing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, including sales, profits, and expenses.
  • Collaborate with the management team to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of retail management experience in food and non-food operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in a computerized environment, including the operation and administration of Point of Sale (POS) computer systems.
  • Proficient in office software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong financial management skills, including the ability to review and analyze financial statements.
  • Excellent people management skills, including the ability to recruit, hire, train, motivate, evaluate, correct, develop, and increase staff performance in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to speak and write Inuktitut would be considered a definite asset.
  • Experience and understanding of co-operatives and working with Boards of Directors would be an asset.
