Job Summary

Arctic Co-ops is seeking a highly skilled Co-op Assistant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our retail stores in the Canadian Arctic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and motivate a team of retail staff to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Oversee the operation of Point of Sale (POS) computer systems and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the management team to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of retail management experience in food and non-food operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in a computerized environment, including POS systems.
  • Strong financial management skills, including the ability to review and analyze financial statements.
  • Excellent people management skills, including the ability to motivate and develop staff in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to speak and write Inuktitut would be considered a definite asset.
