Job Summary

Trojan Safety is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial First Aid Attendant to join our team. As an Industrial First Aid Attendant, you will be responsible for providing emergency response to crews in the event of an injury, illness, or emergency situation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Current Certifications: Hold and maintain current certifications in H2S, First Aid, CPR, TDG, WHMIS, and Provincial Governing Body Registration.
  • Adhere to Protocols: Obey and follow first aid protocols set out by ruling government agencies and maintain confidentiality of patient medical information.
  • Provide First Aid: Provide first aid to workers when injured or ill, within your scope of practice (OFA3, EMR, PCP).
  • Transport Decisions: Make transport decisions for injured workers to healthcare facilities.
  • WCB and OH&S Compliance: Familiarize yourself with WCB documentation, OH&S regulations, and first aid reports.
  • Head Count and Safety Meetings: Maintain proper head count of personnel on location and participate in all safety meetings.
  • Documentation and Equipment: Ensure all personnel on location have proper documentation and operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.

  • Confident and Responsible: Demonstrate confident and responsible behavior in emergency situations.
  • Practical and Patient: Show practical and patient behavior when interacting with workers and providing first aid.
  • Effective Communication: Possess effective communication skills to direct workers in medical emergencies.

Physical Requirements
  • Reasonable Fitness Level: Possess and maintain a reasonable level of fitness.
  • Good Observation Skills: Have good observation skills to detect potential hazards.
  • Long Hours and Shift Work: Be able to work long hours, including day and night shifts, and consecutive shifts.
  • Color Vision: Have normal color vision to operate safety systems.
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and a current (within 3 months) driver's abstract.
  • Common Safety Orientation: Complete a Common Safety Orientation course.
  • H2S Alive: Hold a valid H2S Alive certification.
  • WHIMIS and TDG: Hold valid WHIMIS and TDG certifications.
  • Provincial Governing Body Registration: Hold current Provincial Governing Body Registration.

This is a safety-sensitive position, and the candidate must complete and clear a pre-employment drug test.
