Job Title: Resource Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Resource Teacher to join our team at School District #39 (Vancouver). As a Resource Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work with English Language Learner (ELL) students, students with mild to moderate difficulties in their academic learning, and students with Ministry designations. You will assess students' needs using various assessment strategies and instruments to provide appropriate remediation. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with teachers to adapt and modify curriculum, providing individual and small group instruction, and overseeing the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess students' needs and provide remediation
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt and modify curriculum
  • Provide individual and small group instruction
  • Oversee the development and implementation of IEPs
  • Communicate effectively with staff and parents
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Education
  • Completion of a Master's degree in Special Education or a Diploma in Special Education
  • 1 year of full-time experience as a Resource Teacher
  • Prior teaching experience is an asset
  • Membership in or eligibility to become a member of the Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service
