Job Title: Plasterer

BLUESTAR STUCCO is seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team. As a Plasterer, you will be responsible for applying, leveling, and smoothing coats of plaster to create a smooth and even finish.

Work Environment

As a Plasterer, you will work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in a variety of weather conditions. You will be required to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to create a smooth and even finish
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Utilize a laser alignment system
