Job Title: Plasterer

Join BLUESTAR STUCCO as a skilled Plasterer to work on various construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying, leveling, and smoothing coats of plaster to create a smooth and durable finish.

Work Environment

Our Plasterer will work in a fast-paced construction environment, often at heights, in dusty and noisy conditions. You will be required to work outdoors and be comfortable with physical demands such as bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to walls and ceilings
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Utilize a laser alignment system
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages

Weight Handling

The Plasterer will be required to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
